Today, the Kde team announced the first minor release for Kde Plasma 5.9 including various little but important bugfixes and translation updates. Certainly, this first small bugfix release will improve the stability and usability of the desktop environment.

Global Menu is one of the most interesting features of Kde Plasma 5.9, the latest major release of the Kde Desktop Environment. Global Menus allow the user to have the application menu into the application itself, as a titlebar button or into a widget panel placed at the top of the screen. Global Menu is a very exciting feature a user would like to try, but unfortunately, for some reasons, enabling it may be a bit complicated if you don't know where to search.
As an Arch Linux and Kde lover, I'm pleased to let you know that the new Kde Plasma 5.9 is finally available into the stable repository. As you may know, this new major release of Plasma Desktop is bringing a lot of new and interesting features as Global Menus, a feature I'm very curious to try.
Great news for Arch Linux users! From a few minutes, Kde Plasma 5.3 stable packages are officially available on Arch Linux repositories.
As said in the previous post, today, the Kde team released Plasma 5.3 which come with a lot of interesting features. Plasma 5 is the desktop environment of the Kde project and we can certainly say that its development is a source of interest for a big chunk of Linux users since, at the moment, it is found to be at the center of very important changes.
A couple of days ago I spoke about the new release of the Kde Applications 15.04 which represents a great and important step towards the completion of the passage from the old Kde 4 to the new Plasma 5 environment.
Great news for Kde fanatics since this is a month full of great releases. In fact, after the stable release of KDE Frameworks 5.9 and the up-and-coming beta of Plasma 5.3 there's another important step for the Kde development: KDE Applications 15.04.
In the last two post I've talked about the new Kde Plasma 5. In particular I've posted some pictures about Plasma 5 on my Arch Linux workstation and, after a not too long testing period, I've also wrote a review about its current status. Since some readers have asked to me how to install it on their Arch Linux workstations I'll going to write a small tutorial to explain how to do this.
A few weeks ago, during a little break from studies, I've finally found some time for installing Plasma 5 on my Arch Linux workstation. Before a not too deep period of usage I'd like to share with you my impressions on the current state of Plasma.
